** November 25th 2007

CNPq is a Brazilian funding agency and launched last week a call to support projects focused on popularization of science, mainly trough the organization of science centers or museums. The projects can claim funds up to 400.000 reais, for 30 months of duration. Costs with construcion are not allowed but it can cover costs with equipaments, travels, per diem, consumables, fellowships, literature. The deadline is January 22th, 2008.

Paulo Gomes (IPTI), physician and moving to Sergipe very soon, will coordinate our proposal. I talked with the secretary of education and we going to apply together this proposal, which will reinforce our chances. The idea is to develop sience experiences that could be replicate in other cities. I also talked with the secretary of education from Santa Luzia and they will provide a space for us to host the science center.
