Project in public health

Since February 2009 Sergipe has started a project aimed to provide an IT infrastructure (hardware and software) to allow a better management on public health focused on epidemiological monitoring. The project is an initiative of the state secretary for health and the national Ministry of Health and it is being conducted by SergipeTec, one of THP's partner. Due the fact we are installing the research center in Santa Luzia do Itanhy the city was selected to host the pilot experience. This project shall be ready by the end of 2009 and it is now integrated with the other activities IPTI is programming to develop in Santa Luzia. The idea is that after the pilot experience the technology can be disseminated to other cities and states in Brazil.
